Speaking of cocktails, today Matthew is drinking a Smokey Watermelon Margarita while Ben is drinking a Watermelon Daiquirita. Recipes below.
Smokey Watermelon Margarita
- 1.5 oz Tequila Blanco
- 0.5 oz Mezcal
- 0.75 oz Fresh lime juice
- 0.25 oz Elderflower liqueur
- 0.5 oz Watermelon syrup
- Absinthe rinse
- Rinse your coupe or rocks glass with absinthe (just a few drops—swirl and dump, or use an atomizer). Shake the rest of the ingredients with ice and strain into the prepared glass. Garnish with a thin watermelon slice or a basil leaf floated on top.
Watermelon Daiquirita
- 1 oz Tequila Blanco
- 1 oz White Rum
- 2 large chunks of watermelon
- 1/2 oz of Rich Simple Syrup
- 1/2 oz Lime Juice
- Add your watermelon chunks to a shaking tin and muddle thoroughly and the remain ingredients and ice and shake until just chilled. Double strain into stemmed cocktail glass. Garnish with a watermelon spear.
