On this episode, Dan chats with Justin Jensen about his career path in the Department of Natural Resources. Justin shares the story about having a conversation with his father when he was just 8 years old about becoming a bighorn sheep biologist. Several years later after graduating college he got his first job studying mule deer.
Once his contract was up in South Dakota he decided to travel west to Idaho to do similar research on elk. Those studies include, calf mortality rate, predator kill, and winter kill numbers. If you have ever thought about pursuing a path in wildlife biology, this is the episode for you.
