Jon, a habitat management specialist, talks with Dan about how how terrain and vegetation affects wind direction and wind speed creating dead air and wind vortexes. Add that with rising and falling pressure and a variety of thermals, theres a lot to talk about. 

The next time you are in the field take a look at where the main trails are on the landscape, they're there for a reason. It's because the deer feel comfortable using those trails and put themselves in the best possible position where they can use their #1 defense, their nose.
