Episode 29 Published 3 years, 9 months ago
Description

In this episode, Grant McHerron talks with Max Kufner, Vice President Above Water Systems at Thales Australia. Max discusses Thales Australia's role in Defence's Future Maritime Sustainment Model (FMSM), part of Plan Galileo for the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) which is aiming to further develop Australia’s sovereign capabilities.

The discussion also gives us an insight into how the RAN assess the readiness of their fleet in addition to changes in their technology and manufacturing platforms surrounding the roll out of their new vessels. Finally, Max gives a glimpse into how the challenges in the marketplace and the increased tensions in the indo-pacific impact sustainment for the Royal Australian Navy.
