[Ep. 109] Navigating How I Can Love You & Not Be Nourished By You

Episode 109 Published 3 years, 7 months ago
Description

In this episode, Luis explores how and why we often force ourselves to be with or doings for other people simply because we love them.

We often over-couple love with action, i.e. if we love someone, we should do things for them and if we don't do those things, our love is in question. With this overcoupling, love can move us to bypass our own boundaries which ultimately result in resentment towards the person we love. But what would it look like to uncouple love from action?

What if we are able to expand our capacity for contradictions, i.e. "I love you and I don't want to be around you right now"? What if we could trust in the love rather than having to constantly prove its existence? We could release the burden to always do something with or for others.
