Today I’m talking about one of my favorite towns - Žilina. In our Slovak lesson we are going to go back to the present tense and learn new verbs from our conversation. You are also going to learn how to say “Where would you like to go?” in Slovak. 

Slovak lesson
1. ísť von (to go outside)
2. báť sa (to be afraid of)
3. roztopiť sa (to melt)
4. ublížiť si (to hurt oneself)
5. skryť sa (to hide)
6. detské ihrisko (playground)
7. radnica (town hall)
8. kostol (church)
9. kláštor ( monastery)
10. Kde by ste chceli ísť? (Where would you like to go?)

Short conversation
D: Babka, môžeme ísť von? (Grandma, can we go outside?)
B: Vonku prší. (It‘s raining outside.)
D: My sa dažďa nebojíme. A aj tak, neroztopíme sa, nie sme z cukru. (We are not afraid of rain. And anyway, we won’t melt, we are not made from sugar.)
B: Viem, viem. Kde by ste chceli ísť? (I know, I know. Where would you like to go?)
D: Na detské ihrisko. (To the playground.)
B: Tam nie! Všetko je tam mokré, ešte si ublížite. (Not there. Everything is wet there, you can get hurt.)
D: Môžeme ísť do parku. Skryjeme sa pod stromy. (We can go to the park. We’ll hide under the trees.)
B: Nie, ani tam nie. Pod stromami prší dvakrát. (No, not there either. It rains twice under the trees.)
D: A čo tak laubne? Tam neprší. (How about the corridors? It doesn’t rain there.)
B: Dobre, ale nebuďte dlho. (All right, but won’t be long.)
D: Nebudeme. Čau, babi! (We won’t. Bye!)
