Lee Taft on the Harsh Reality of Youth Travel Sports

Published 3 years, 8 months ago
Description

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last 20-30 years, you’ve probably heard of Lee Taft at some point in time.

And with good reason!

Lee is arguably the best multi-directional speed coach in the world, and I know I, personally, wouldn’t be the coach I am today without him.

And while we’ve talked about speed numerous times in the past, today we’re going to attempt to tackle the topic that is youth travel sports.

I’ve seen kids that have moved into travel sports and thrived, while others got so burned out in a year or two they went back to rec or quit the sport all together.

So in today’s episode, we’re going to do our best to breakdown and discuss this massive issue.

Keep in mind the ultimate goal is to make sure the program they choose, whether it’s rec league, 3-on-3, or a travel team, make sure they have a coach that understands development – Lee Taft
