In 2003 Joy Risker suddenly vanished without a trace from her home in San Diego, California.  Her husband, Sean Goff, told her friends and loved ones that she ran off to be with another man.  They even received emails from Joy, telling them that she was off, finding herself and to just leave her alone.  But something wasn’t sitting right with them.  They knew she wouldn’t just walk out on her children like this.  They knew her marriage was troubled.  Sean Goff was a polygamist and Joy was his junior wife and she grew tired of being a part of it.  She was ready to leave, but Goff would not let Joy tarnish his reputation as a spiritual leader in the polygamist community by walking out on him.
