Alex Jones must pay over $4 million to parents of a Sandy Hook victim

Published 3 years, 5 months ago
Description

A judge orders right-wing commentator Alex Jones to pay the parents of a Sandy Hook shooting victim more than $4 million in compensation, for his widespread and relentless lies over a 10-year period that the tragic event was an elaborate hoax. But with punitive damages in this defamation case still to be decided and multiple additional defamation lawsuits pending, Jones' legal battles are far from over. Laura and the panel discuss if Jones’ downfall will stop others deliberately spreading misinformation.

Plus, Hillsborough County State Attorney Andrew Warren joins CNN Tonight to talk about his suspension by Florida Governor DeSantis, after vowing not to criminalize abortion. And, Sen. Kyrsten Sinema says she will "move forward" on Biden’s economic bill giving the Democrats the votes to progress the legislation, after a deal she cut on changes to tax provisions in the package with the Senate Majority Leader.

Hosted by Laura Coates.
