Description
Fan Mail: Tell Wendy how you're saying yes to yourself!
This week on the Love Letters, Life & Other Conversations podcast Jane shares the following writing from @mombrain.therapist as the springboard for the conversation.
'Your grown up kids aren’t going to sit around and talk about how the house was decorated or what size clothing you wore. They are going to talk about how safe they felt at home, how you loved them unconditionally and how it felt to be a respected family member.'
Wendy and Jane each share their own experiences as the adult child now sitting around talking about their parents and their conversations with their own children, and the hopes for how they have shaped the stories that do and will share.
Here are our takeaways for this week:
Wendy
- To continue to parent in a way that makes the conversations 20 years from now one that I’m proud to be listening to
Jane
- Consideration of what legacy we are leaving and how we will be remembered as we remember our parents.
Kristina (KB)
- That as a parent it is not perfection but intentional consideration for creating a feeling for our children of being loved and considered.
