Preseason practicing begins Friday for Mississippi State. Training camp is no longer about getting up to football speed thanks to summer workouts. The Bulldogs will show up ready to practice and our Gene's Page staff will show up to report on it all, with a week-one schedule due out shortly. Before the Bulldog varsity gets busy the coaching staff has stayed busy with end-of-summer prospect camps. This has already produced a fresh round of commitments with now a running total of 13 announced for December signing. The challenge though for coaches and commitments is just how committed all parties are in this new era of free transfers and portal recruiting.
