Often, I work with women who think their dads are far better husbands than their own husbands, in terms of earning money, being masculine/courageous, being handy, even being romantic with their wives (the woman's mom). I also often see men who think their own moms are better than their wives at being loving, attentive, and laid back with kids. (The only difference is that many women now outearn the man's mom, so that's one area where I see less negative comparison.)
