But when it ends July 24 campuses such as Mississippi State will be busy hosting a final round of summer prospect camps. Bulldog football has eight commitments, one-third of a standard class, and expects more to come out of Top Dog Camp. But what was once a meet-and-greet, fun-and-games event for high school players is serious business now. The transfer portal and available college players have cut into scholarships for prep prospects. So making a bigger and better impression at campus camps is important to many a high schooler wanting to sign with his preferred program.
