Is The Bartlett the tip of an iceberg of a toxic culture within Architecture Education?

Episode 133 Published 3 years, 9 months ago
Description

Two weeks ago an independent investigation report of The Bartlett School of Architecture exposed a toxic learning and teaching culture.

The AJ reported it as the biggest open secret in Architecture, Dezeen said its shocking and unsurprising at the same time.

Maryam Al-Irhayim, Vice President for Students and Associate Members (Part I's and Part II's) at the RIBA recently wrote an article discussing the bullying and discrimination that many students have echoed to her from their experiences studying to enter Architecture.

What do you think about the recent events? Is this overreaction or perhaps it's a serious problem in Architecture education that needs to be properly addressed?
