Season 1 Episode 24 Published 3 years, 11 months ago
Description

In this episode, Grant McHerron and Ewen Levick talk with Hayden Surrao of JLB-Yaran, an Indigenous and Veteran-owned professional service provider to the Defence industry.

We start off by learning about the history and formation of the JLB-Yaran company, which is an Indigenous and Veteran-owned professional service provider that has undertaken a number of community initiatives and contracts supporting the Defence Industry. The discussion explores the company's primary services including professional services, their Indigenous Development and Employment Program (IDEP) and their Veteran Transition Program.

We also get to discuss JLB-Yaran’s focus on quality of service over metrics, the importance of workforce retention and development, and finally, what is needed from the Defence force to better recognise the leadership of indigenous professionals.
