In the latest episode of The Passing Shot, the tennis podcast by fans, Joel and Kim dissect the Quarter Finals of the 2022 French Open, which saw Rafa Nadal get the better of long time rival Novak Djokovic in a late night match, and Coco Gauff reach her Maiden Slam semi final.
With the night session scheduling under fire, Joel and Kim catch up on the action from the past two days of play, with the Nadal Djokovic epic going into the early hours of the morning, to Sacha Zverev getting the better of young Carlos Alcaraz and Marin Cilic making his first Slam semi on clay in a last set tie break over Andrey Rublev, there is plenty to discuss.
World No.1 Iga Swiatek makes it 33 wins in a row with a win over Jessica Pegula, and first time Slam semis beckon for Daria Kasatkina, Coco Gauff and Martina Trevisan as they fight their way through their respective Quarter Finals in differing fashions. They round up all four quarters as well as reflecting on the lack of women’s night matches scheduled on Chatrier.
They also provide a Collect A Set update, which sees a tiebreaker necessary to decide this edition’s ultimate winner.
