I heard something on a Tom Bileyu podcast with Simon Sinek that I'll never forget when it comes to leadership. Simon was interviewing a Three Star Marine General and asked him what defines a good leader. The General's response was simple and profound.
"The sign of a good leader is asking someone about how they're doing and actually caring about their response."
I love this because it puts it into perspective that anybody, yes anybody, can be a leader. We all have the ability that the general described. Leadership is not defined by a title. In today's world, I believe we need more people to see themselves as leaders. It's as simple as truly caring about the people to your left and right.
