Mystery Theater Old Time Radio - Suspense Radio Shows - Episode #77 - The Cave of Ali Baba 

Suspense Radio Shows was a CBS radio series that aired from 1942 to 1962.

Suspense was dubbed "radio's outstanding theater of thrills" and was one of the great radio programs of the Golden Age of Radio. Leading Hollywood actors of the time starred in suspense films.

PLOT

Lord Peter Whimsey, the gentleman crime fighter, embarks on an adventure. He is assisted in breaking up a masked criminal society by a secret voice-operated vault. "The Adventurous Exploit Of Ali Baba's Cave" is the basis for the story (written in 1928). + A man sits eating kippers and reading the daily paper in a grim and narrow Lambeth house. When a slight noise at the front door catches his ear, he has just finished eating and is sipping his coffee. He springs up and dashes through the small hallway, flinging open the door too quickly for a quiet little man. There is no one around. He shuts the door and turns to the right, as if he knows what he'll find.
