In civilian life we tend to give respect to those we deem have earned it from us or we begrudgingly give it to those we feel beholden to, such as a boss. We depict the military as those in authority demanding respect regardless of anything. Is it possible and relevant to give everyone respect no matter what, and is this possible or feasible?
