Tesla reportedly wrote in a thank-you letter to the new Lingang Zone of the China (Shanghai) Free Trade Trial Zone on May 1 that Tesla plans to build a new factory near its Shanghai mega-factory. This factory is for the production of Model 3 and Model Y and is expected to increase annual production capacity by 450,000 cars.
