One writer at The American Thinker wondered aloud why the "South Lives  On." This would appear to be a bad thing, though the writer--operating under a pseudonym, doesn't make that entirely clear. Most of the piece  would be readily acceptable by the establishment academy, though he does think that the result of the War nearly resulted in a cultural genocide.
