Wes McClenny of Cabela's and Christian Hunters of America: Should Christians Hunt?

Season 2 Episode 88 Published 4 years, 6 months ago
Description

The return of "What About?" Wednesdays! Text us your questions for apologist and pastor Robby Lashua!

Proverbs 12:10 is pretty clear:  "The righteous care for the needs of their animals, but the kindest acts of the wicked are cruel."

Does that mean that hunting is prohibited in scripture and that, as Christ followers, we should not be involved in hunting or fishing?

In today's Kingdom Culture Conversation, we are joined by Northwest Christian alumni (class of '20) alumni Wes McClenny.  During his time at Northwest Christian, Wes was involved and instrumental in the school's outdoor adventure club, the Adventure Cru.  Wes is employed at Cabela's where he works in the fishing division.  And, he's deeply investing in mentoring young people as part of the Christian Hunters of America.

How will Wes justify his commitment to hunting and fishing in light of scripture?  What does he do with a verse like Proverbs 12:10?
