Seed Starting By The Moon Phases. Does It Really Work?
Description
Seed Staring using the moon phases. Does the moon phase and seed starting really matter? Let’s look at home the moon effects our plants and seeds if at all.
First-quarter moon cycle (new moon to half full) – Things that are leafy, like lettuce, cabbage, and spinach, should be planted.
Second-quarter moon cycle (half full to full moon) – Planting time for things that have seeds inside, like tomatoes, beans, and peppers.
Third-quarter moon cycle (full moon to half full) – Things that grow underground or plants that are perennials, like potatoes, garlic, and raspberries, can be planted.
Fourth-quarter moon cycle (half full to new moon) – Do not plant. Weed, mow, and kill pests instead.

Ashley is an agronomist who has had a passion for plants since she was a small child. In the long summers as a child, she would garden alongside her grandmother and it was then that she realized her love for greenery. With years of great studying, Ashley had begun her post-secondary education at the University of Saskatchewan.
At first, her second love, animals, was the career path she chose but while doing her undergrad she realized that her education would take her elsewhere. And with that, four years later she graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a bachelor’s degree in science and a major in Soil Science.
