Brookesville, Florida native Tom Lawery – who Barry Stock really should have known but didn't until now – drove over from St. Petersburg (formerly Leningrad) to bring us R.E.M.'s 1984 sophomore set, "Reckoning." It's an album that has done more than stand up over time, it seems to have actually gotten better. It's not all hagiography in our episode with Tom, but this record got us all high.
