Welcome to Season 2 of Dragonfly Tales, a story podcast for children of all ages. 

Our sixth episode invites renowned storyteller Liz Weir MBE to the podcast.

Liz has been telling stories for over 40 years and has told her captivating tales on five continents!!

We met Liz at the wonderful Glens of Antrim Storytelling Festival and stayed with her in the cosy Ballyeamon Barn, where storytellers come from all over the world to share stories and have a lovely time. If you're ever in the Glens, why not go and stay at the Barn?

Our story this episode is a classic fairytale by Hans Christian Andersen - but told with our own Dragonfly Tales flavour.

Andersen wrote some of the most well loved fairy tales ever, including The Little Mermaid, The Ugly Duckling and The Tinder Box. This book, An Illustrated Treasury, is a lovely introduction to his stories.

Our fifth episode is a tale from the lands of Ice and snow - a Norse myth. Norse myths are ancient stories of gods, goddesses, heroes and battles from Scandinavia. They were passed down to the Vikings and have had a lasting impression on us too! Our days of the week are named after Norse gods!

In this story, the Thunder god Thor loses his most precious possession - and finds himself in an embarrassing situation (thanks to Loki).
