Building off of this post, I discuss why the idea that both parents should act identically is unhealthy and unhelpful. Often, women say their husbands are harsher on the kids than they are, and the husbands are made to apologize for acting differently than their wives do towards the kids. This is imbalanced and prevents kids from learning from and respecting different ways of engaging in the world.
