Living with Jim Crow series: Ray's Way, part 1.early child hood
Published 5 years, 3 months ago
Description
As part of my ongoing series, "Living with Jim Crow", this segment is titled 'Ray's Way!'.
The title is derived from my opportunity to interview my uncle, Retired Police Officer and AME Zion minister, Reverend Ray Owens, Senior as we had an in depth discussion about his experience during Jim Crow. Many of the experiences were consistent with various experiences of blacks living in the South during the 50s and 60s. However, my uncle shared some unique experiences that were part comedic, part breath taking and sometimes, part terrifying. Listen as the first segment focuses on his early years of living in the Jim Crow south.
