Team Fearless Fallons

Episode 114 Published 4 years ago
Description

Welcome to episode 114 of the Löw Tide Böyz - A Swimrun Podcast!

This week’s episode is a good one. For the first time on the show, we have a Mother/Daughter duo joining us to talk about how that works! We are stoked to have Brooke and Samantha Fallon, A.K.A., The Fearless Fallons, on the podcast to share their Swimrun journey with all of us.

But first...

Training Update

Swimrun Lake James is now only 6 weeks away! Open water swims are coming soon but until then, make sure to check out our course preview episode if you’re racing Lake James or are just curious about what we’ve gotten ourselves into.

Shoutouts

We’ve got multiple shoutouts this week! A big shoutout to the previous guests of the show Lolo Armstrong of Team Run for Tacos for running his first marathon over the weekend. Super stoked for you dude!

Another big shoutout goes out to our favorite journalist Adam Skolnick for completing the 4x4x48 Goggins Challenge for the second year in a row. Bonus shoutout to Adam’s wife April for completing the challenge as well. Strong work!

Feats of Endurance

This week’s winner is Ignacio Eduardo Duarte Harriet for posting a nuts 77 mile, 8,000ft of elevation bike ride from Caracas, Venezuela. The elevation profile from that ride looked totally bonkers so strong work there!

We have a bonus winner this week as well. Special kudos to our friend Derek Rosner for posting a run from Chris’s hometown in San Juan, Puerto Rico. (For those just tuning in, any workout posted from Puerto Rico is an automatic winner for this segment.)

This Week in Swimrun

Welcome to the LTBz news desk.

Race season is almost upon us in the United States and now is a good time to put one or four Ödyssey Swimrun events on your race calendar.  Need an additional incentive? Use the code “LOWTIDEBOYZ” at checkout to save 15% off of your registration.

Swimrun Lake James, taking place on April 23rd in Lake James, North Carolina is super close to selling out so if you are waiting until the last minute to sign up…now is your time! See you there! By the way, if you happen to be in North Carolina this weekend…DM Marcus Barton for deetz on a low-key Swimrun training that he and fellow Swimrunners are doing on the course.

Over in Europe, Swimrun Portugal’s Azores Islands Swimrun is taking place in a few weeks on March 22nd. The race looks amazing so if anyone is racing it, let us know how it went.

If you’re not familiar with the French Swimrun Man series, well you really should be. Their races look as picturesque as they are intense. Case in point, their first event of the year, the Gorges du Verdon Swimrun taking place on May 1st offers four distances, including a kids Swimrun (cool!), a “Classic” 28km Swimrun (sounds doable), a “Half” 47km Swimrun (that’s the half?!), and an “Ultra” 66km Swimrun…that’s also an ÖTILLÖ Merit Race.
