Pre-Loved Podcast: Marvin Ruby
Today's show is with Arlena, founder of Marvin Ruby, a reworked vintage brand which creates one-of-a-kind pieces from vintage quilts. Arlena grew up in the Rust Belt and was raised with a hatred for throwing things away. At age 19, she picked up and moved to New York City. Her journey to working in the fashion industry took her for quite a ride, she worked at an upcycled fashion brand in Iceland and for large commercial brands in New York. Ultimately, she decided to move to Upstate New York, and start her own line of reworked designs.
In this episode, we discuss Arlena's path to founding her own brand, her thoughts on the debate about reusing quilts in clothing, slow fashion, and so much more.
I'm so excited for you to hear this one, so let's dive right into the show!
