Description
Fan Mail: Tell Wendy how you're saying yes to yourself!
In celebration of Valentine’s Day this week’s episode is the first of a special three-part series called ‘Do ‘this’ to Fall in Love. Jane and Wendy will each be answering a series of questions that are touted as a fast track to falling in love. Despite the fact that they feel they make terrible test subjects - since they already adore each other - they thought it would be fun and informative all the same.
Wendy’s Takeaway
- Hearing Jane’s life story that only part of was known
- Connection and emotional intimacy take time and effort. It can be uncomfortable but the results far outweigh anything that is less desirable.
Jane’s Takeaway
- This has cemented that relationship between how mutual vulnerability fosters closeness and connectedness, and to get there it needs to be ‘sustained, escalating, reciprocal and full of personal self-disclosure.’
- The murky stuff. She’s decided that wading through the muddy waters is so rewarding.
Here are this week’s questions:
- Given the choice of anyone in the world, whom would you want as a dinner guest?
- Would you like to be famous? In what way?
- Before making a telephone call, do you ever rehearse what you are going to say? Why?
- What would constitute a “perfect” day for you?
- When did you last sing to yourself? To someone else?
- If you were able to live to the age of 90 and retain either the mind or body of a 30-year-old for the last 60 years of your life, which would you want?
- Do you have a secret hunch about how you will die?
- Name three things you and your partner appear to have in common.
- For what in your life do you feel most grateful?
- If you could change anything about the way you were raised, what would it be?
- Take four minutes and tell your partner your life story in as much detail as possible.
- If you could wake up tomorrow having gained any one quality or ability, what would it be?
