Jesus says, “An evil and adulterous generation seeks for a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah." I.  Making Jesus prove himself to you more than he already has, before you’ll trust in him, is evil and adulterous, vv38-39. II. The death, burial and resurrection of Jesus is the sign Jesus has given you, v39-40. III. Pagans repented at the preaching of Jonah and the wisdom of Solomon, so we have no excuse if we reject Jesus, because he’s greater than both, vv41-42. IV. An evil generation devoid of God, will grow worse and worse, vv43-45.
