Were red flags ignored before Ethan Crumbley turned a gun on Oxford High School?

Published 4 years ago
Description
Ethan Crumbley was a troubled teen.  His parents were called to Oxford High School on November 30 to discuss some drawings that Ethan had made. He drew photos of guns and blood with the words ‘the thoughts won’t stop help me.’

His parents left Ethan at school following the meeting. A few hours later, Ethan went into the bathroom and emerged with a gun that his father had purchased in a Black Friday sale.

Ethan murdered four students on November 30, and many more were injured. Since the shooting, Ethan’s parents James and Jennifer have each been charged with involuntary manslaughter.  This has been a somewhat controversial topic - do you believe they should have been charged?

In this week’s episode of the True Crime Society Podcast, we talk about the Oxford High School shooting and the failing of the Crumbley family.  We discuss -
 A timeline of the shooting
Ethan’s childhood and the Crumbley family dynamics
The attempted escape and consequent arrest of James and Jennifer Crumbley
The victims of the Oxford High School shooting
