Host Rick K. Jones heads to Idaho, the 43rd state, for a tour of potatoes, Basque food, bison, and one very convincing fake baked potato. Come hungry. Rick's picks cover a 1950s drive-in, a Basque feast, a steakhouse in a pioneer town, and a craft beer spot.

What Rick covers:

West Side Drive-In (Boise): An old school drive-in with lanes you pull into, you order, and a tiny seating area out front. Classic cars, a 1950s vibe, and neon lights added in the 1970s.

The history: Started in 1957 by Ralph Caskey, moved to its current location in 1960, and bought in 1994 by fine dining chef Lou Aaron. His son Josh runs it now.

What to order: Steak fries, loaded baked potatoes, and the famous ice cream sundae that looks like a baked potato. Everything is made from scratch.

The potato sundae: The outside is browned powdered sugar that looks like cocoa, with ice cream inside and dessert toppings. Chef Lou invented it, and he brings a truck to the Idaho State Fair every year.
