The Foxbody Den Show Episode #31 - A Roadside Gas Run Led to One of Foxtoberfest’s Best Builds
Description
He built it to drive the crap out of it—not to win trophies. Then PaceZilla took home the Foxbody Den Choice Award at Foxtoberfest 2026.
In this episode of The Foxbody Den Show, John Kolbaska and Lee CCWFOX sit down with Andy Stevens to tell the full story behind PaceZilla, his patina 1979 Foxbody Pace Car build powered by a 7.3L Godzilla making roughly 690 horsepower.
The car showed up to Foxtoberfest with only 15 miles on it—and left with more than 200.
Andy breaks down the entire build, including the Godzilla swap, bright orange engine bay, RideTech ShockWave air ride, custom Victory wheels, big-brake fitment, and why he decided against adding a ProCharger—for now.
We also get into the story that brought Andy back into Foxbody Mustangs after a military deployment, the surprise car waiting for him with a red bow, and the roadside gas run that eventually connected him with the builders behind PaceZilla.
The conversation also covers four-eye Foxbodies, 1979 Pace Cars, SVO parts, rare Foxbody parts prices, Foxtoberfest 2026, and Andy’s growing collection of nine cars—including an Emerald Green GT and Arlie’s Whipple-Coyote convertible.
PaceZilla wasn’t built to sit on a trailer. It was built to be driven, enjoyed, and have a story behind every mile.
