Episode Details

Miami Hurricanes threaten to derail Notre Dame’s College Football Playoff dreams for the second year running. Can Darian Mensah’s Heisman campaign and Miami’s explosive weapons—Malachi Toney, Cooper Barkate, and Mark Fletcher—deliver the signature win that cements their national title hopes? The high-stakes showdown at South Bend brings classic rivalry energy, with Miami eager to repeat last year’s playoff-blocking feat and Notre Dame fighting to stay alive.

The conversation focused on Miami’s recent defensive struggles, missed tackles, and injury concerns, but also spotlighted strategic improvements under Coach Mario Cristobal. Key themes include Notre Dame’s injury-riddled defense, the impact of CJ Carr’s precision passing, and whether Miami’s supporting cast can rise if Toney is bottled up. The discussion explored historical animosity—referencing the Catholics vs. Convicts era—and questioned whether the expanded playoff format will reignite storied matchups. Will Miami prove they’re three touchdowns better, or can Notre Dame’s backs-to-the-wall mentality spark an upset?
