Are We the Clowns?

Season 2 Episode 4 Published 18 hours ago
Description

This episode is about the 2016 Clown Panic and the true Power of Fear.

Remember the Clown Panic of 2016? When reports of mysterious clowns supposedly lurking in the woods turned into a nationwide frenzy of fear, speculation, and outright hysteria?

We recently watched the documentary Clown Panic and found ourselves revisiting more than just a bizarre moment in recent history. What began as a conversation about creepy clowns quickly became a much bigger discussion about media sensationalism, misinformation, mob mentality, and the human tendency to believe—and react to—things without stopping to question them.

How does fear spread? Why are people so easily swept up in collective outrage? And what happens when we stop thinking critically and start letting someone else tell us what to believe, who to fear, and who to blame?

From the responsibility of the media to the nature of political division, activism, and the importance of meaningful human connection, we follow the conversation wherever it takes us.

Because maybe the real question isn't whether there were clowns hiding in the woods in 2016.

Maybe it's whether we're still falling for the same tricks today.

So, are we the clowns?
