Prosecutors Say Matthew Farwell Left a Friend a Note Saying THIS
Description
The prosecution has rested in the Matthew Farwell trial. The state says the former Stoughton detective strangled a pregnant Sandra Birchmore and disguised her death as a suicide, and Farwell's plea is not guilty.
Prosecutors pointed to a goodbye note when pushing to keep him behind bars ahead of trial. The state says he wrote it to his best friend on June 24, 2024, wishing things had gone differently and asking the friend to watch over his wife.
On the day Farwell handed troopers his personal phone, he ran searches on his police phone that jurors later saw. One asked whether you can take back consent in Massachusetts.
Joining me are Eric Faddis, a former prosecutor who moved into defense work, and the FBI's retired behavioral chief Robin Dreeke. If the medical evidence won't settle it, can Farwell's own conduct carry a juror to guilty?
