Episode Details

Baylor Bears face a pivotal coaching crossroads: Should the program turn to Hall of Fame-caliber legends like Mike Gundy, Gary Patterson, or potentially Dabo Swinney if he becomes available? The conversation focused on whether Baylor should resist the allure of established names who haven’t adapted to NIL and the transfer portal era, emphasizing the need for forward-thinking leadership and questioning if these icons are fit for modern college football.

The discussion explored alternative candidates, including Navy’s Brian Newberry—an intriguing Baylor alumnus with a strong track record but currently mired in a challenging season. Several points were raised, including why the Bears’ fanbase should watch Notre Dame vs. Navy, Baylor’s path back to relevance, and expectations for interim head coach Joe Klanderman as the team travels to face UCF. What’s next for Bears football, and which coaching strategy offers the brightest future?
