Halloween Week: The Pet Cemetery Murder - Dorothy Thompson
Episode 437
Published 2 days, 13 hours ago
Description
Deep in the swamps of Louisiana, the Azalea Original Pet Cemetery was a place surrounded by thousands of animal graves, reports of ghostly apparitions, rumours of buried treasure, and a family history filled with murder and mysterious deaths.
In April 1985, its owner, Dorothy Lou Thompson, vanished from her secluded home, only for her body to be discovered weeks later in the Mississippi River, wrapped in heavy chains with a plastic bag secured over her head.
As investigators examined her troubled past, a bitter property dispute and several suspicious individuals emerged, while the cemetery's reputation for paranormal activity continued to grow. For decades, Dorothy's murder remained unsolved, until a chilling confession, an eyewitness account, and a man claiming to have been visited by Dorothy's chain covered ghost helped bring the truth to light.
