Episode Details

Baylor Bears’ coaching search could be their biggest obstacle to a football resurgence. Are Texas ties and offense-first resumes limiting Baylor’s true potential in the Big 12? The conversation focused on why defensive-minded coaches like Jay Hill and Jake Dickert deserve real consideration, especially as top Big 12 programs rise on the strength of elite defenses.

The discussion explored underrated coordinator candidates like LSU’s Charlie Weis Jr. and Miami’s Shannon Dawson, questioning if past missteps with Dave Aranda should deter Baylor from hiring a rising coordinator. Several points were raised, including Jeff Traylor remaining the Bears’ top target despite public statements of loyalty to UTSA. As fan debate swirls about expanding the search to both defense and up-and-coming offensive minds, the episode asks: Will Baylor adapt its approach, or let opportunity pass by again?
