What if the thing you’re most afraid to say out loud is the very thing that would save you?

I opened this conversation with a line from the Gospel of Thomas: “If you bring forth what is within you, what you bring forth will save you. If you do not bring forth what is within you, what you do not bring forth will destroy you.”

Preston's response was exactly what I didn't know I needed.

Preston has spent two decades as a transformational coach, speaker and author. He is a father of four, and for more than a decade he’s led The Bridge Experience alongside his wife, Alexi.

For Preston, bringing forth what’s within you isn’t only about your purpose or your mission. It’s moment to moment. It’s the first hit in your body, and whether you act on it or talk yourself out of it. Every time you override it, you erode trust within yourself.

So in this conversation we went looking for it. We talked about how we were trained from childhood to outsource our power to our parents, our teachers and our priests long before we knew we were doing it, and why intuition is almost always the first thought, not the fifth. He explained why God, to him, is like electricity, and why the real question is whether you’ve built the infrastructure for what you’re asking for. And he told me how scheduling play into every single day, right in the middle of a launch, doubled his business.

We talked about brutal honesty versus artful honesty in relationships, what actually creates safety in a woman’s body, why arguing more brought him and his wife closer, and how to hold your ground without people pleasing or running.

We went deep on money too. Why money is the spoon, not the food. Why he sent back a $30,000 payment from a client he didn’t want to coach. How writing a book called Spiritual Millionaire took him down to his last $20,000. How to pick the one thing that moves the needle and put everything else down. And why he can sit at a table with men who have far more money than him and feel like the richest one in the room.

The line that stuck with me:“When a bird lands on a tree, its faith is not in the branch. Its faith is in its wings.”

If you’re carrying something you haven’t said yet, this one is for you. Go bring it forth!
