Jesus Understands What It Means to Be Tempted - Hebrews 4:14-16
Published 2 days, 4 hours ago
Description
Have you ever struggled with something you were too ashamed to tell anyone about? Perhaps you keep fighting the same temptation, making the same mistake, or wondering whether God understands how difficult it is to change. Hebrews 4:14–16 offers a powerful reminder: Jesus is our great High Priest who sympathises with our weaknesses.
He was tempted in every way as we are, yet He did not sin. This means Jesus understands the reality of temptation without having surrendered to it.
Think about the person struggling with pornography, the young adult battling peer pressure, the person tempted to lie to protect their reputation, or someone fighting the urge to return to a destructive relationship. Temptation can make people feel isolated, as though they are the only ones experiencing such a struggle. Shame can then push them away from the very help they need.
Reflect on this: When you fall into temptation, do you run away from God because you feel ashamed, or do you approach Him honestly for the mercy and strength you need to keep fighting?
