Black Ore launched Black Ore for Small Firms on October 27 at Intuit Connect in Las Vegas, a version of its Tax Autopilot platform for small and mid-sized practices that the largest firms have run for three tax seasons. The offering is priced per return with no enterprise contract and no five-figure minimum, firms can be live in less than a day and it works natively inside Intuit ProConnect Tax and Lacerte. Black Ore's small and mid-sized firm customer base has grown more than fivefold since the start of 2026. The platform reports more than 99% accuracy and up to 98% less preparation time. Elevate says its preparers get back 8 to 15 hours a week, which would return 4 to 7.5 full-time roles of capacity to a 20-person firm if every person prepared returns (our arithmetic). Founded in 2022 and based in Austin, Black Ore raised $60 million in November 2023 co-led by a16z and Oak HC/FT. CEO Eyal Shinar previously co-founded Fundbox.
