This episode begins with An Open Letter to Gary Warner, my father, who passed away in January 2022. It's an honest look at our relationship, the things I wish I understood, the conversations we never had, and how much of my life I spent trying to earn an approval I may have needed to give myself.

We get into family, alcoholism, forgiveness, resentment, recovery, and what happens when you finally stop trying to prove yourself to other people.

And then the phone lines open.

The audience shares some personal experiences of its own, Ocpud2999 calls in with some great news on his birthday, and somewhere along the way we end up talking about Comedy writing, joke premises, punchlines, originality, Richard Pryor, Guns N' Roses, and the upcoming Comedy Mothership audition.

We even accidentally start turning the show into a weekly Comedy writing workshop, with callers bringing their own jokes and agreeing to come back with more.

It's personal, ridiculous, occasionally uncomfortable, and pretty damn funny.

I never really know where these Sunday nights are going to take us. That's becoming one of my favorite things about doing this show.
