Why Sandra Birchmore Feared Something Would Happen in Her Apartment

Published 1 week, 1 day ago
Description

The day before she died, Sandra Birchmore told her therapist she was worried something would happen to her in her own apartment. Her therapist explained why on October 23rd, testifying in the federal murder trial of former Stoughton detective Matthew Farwell. Diala Alkhalil said Sandra was doing well on January 31st, 2021, and that in five years of screening Sandra at every session, she never heard a suicidal thought. She also told jurors Sandra said Farwell pushed her during a January argument over the birth certificate, then asked for a key to her apartment. Prosecutors say Farwell strangled Sandra in that apartment the next day to keep her from reporting him, while the defense says she took her own life. On cross, Joanne Daley pressed the FDA's warning on antidepressants for people under 25, since Sandra was two weeks into Zoloft. The medical examiner and Farwell's twin brother are expected next.
