Launa Misses Work After Paul’s Birthday Weekend

Published 6 hours ago

A Two-Day Birthday Celebration 🎉

Launa’s husband, Paul, celebrated his birthday with family on Saturday and friends and neighbors on Sunday.

The crew predicted the partying would carry straight through the weekend with no recovery time.

The First Text: Something Is Wrong With Her Face

Launa tells the group chat she just got back from urgent care.

Her face is swollen, and she has two styes in her right eye.

She's on medication and worries she might not be able to do promo videos all week.

What Happened at the Party?

J.R. asks if she knows what caused it.

Launa promises to explain on the air.

When J.R. guesses it was a drinking accident, she replies, “Nope, worse.”

Now everyone is dying to know what happened.

The Late-Night Update Gets Worse

Launa texts again that night, saying she can barely see out of her right eye.

At 3:30 a.m., J.R. suggests she throw on an eye patch and get to work, sending a meme of Number Two from Austin Powers.

The Final Text: She's Not Coming In

At 3:55 a.m., Launa says her eye is painful and goopy, and she won't be coming to work.

The crew debates whether a swollen face and an eye issue are legitimate reasons to miss work.

The Great Radio Sick-Day Debate

J.R. compares Launa's situation to the usual “my dog ate my homework” or “I have food poisoning” excuses.

The crew acknowledges that eye problems are miserable and driving with impaired vision could be dangerous.

A Bad Week for Promo Videos

The station has a heavy week of promo-video shoots planned.

Launa says she won't be able to participate if the swelling doesn't go down.

J.R. jokes that the swollen face might actually make the videos more memorable.

The Big Question Remains

What exactly happened during Paul's birthday weekend?

Launa says she'll explain when she's back.

Until then, the crew is left wondering whether this is birthday-party fallout or just a very unfortunate coincidence.
