On today's show I sat down with Lisa Rollings, executive director of the Central Indiana Police Foundation, a nonprofit supporting approximately 5,000 officers across eight counties when fully staffed.

Rollings explains CIPF's three pillars: Code One (aid for officers and families facing line-of-duty injury/death or catastrophic events like flooding, house fires, or family crises), Invest in Blue (equipment and training not covered by budgets, including trauma kits for every officer, bulletproof vests, drones, and support for K9 and mounted patrol), and Behind the Line (community engagement to build positive police-citizen interactions).

Rollings shares how a 2018 accident inspired her to join CIPF, describes support for families of fallen officers through fundraising, referrals, and youth camps, highlights a scholarship honoring FedEx shooting victim Samaria Blackwell, and discusses wellness initiatives and misconceptions about the emotional toll of policing.
