कस्यचन ग्रामीणस्य कुम्भकारस्य समीपे बहवः गर्दभाः आसन् । तेषु एकः अन्धः आसीत् । सः अन्धगर्दभः प्रतिदिनम् अन्यैः गर्दभैः सह चरणार्थं ग्रामात् अरण्यं गत्वा सुरक्षितरूपेण प्रत्यागच्छति स्म । कदाचित् सः अरण्ये मार्गभ्रष्टः जातः । रात्रिः जाता । कश्चन उलूकः तस्य गर्दभस्य गृहं प्रति गमनाय साहाय्यं कर्तुम् उद्युक्तः । अहो ! किं वक्तव्यम् ? उलूकस्तु अन्धकारे द्रष्टुम् अशक्तः । अतः अन्धेनैव नीयमानः अन्धः लक्ष्यं प्राप्नोति वा उत न ?

Near a potter in a village there were many donkeys, among them one blind donkey. Every day he safely went with the other donkeys to the forest for grazing and returned with them. One day he lost his way in the forest, and night fell. An owl came forward to help him reach home. But alas! The owl cannot see in the dark. Thus, being led by the blind, could the blind donkey reach his destination or not?
