Something Worth Pursuing | The Joker in the Rye w/ Tim Warner
Description
Having something worth pursuing is a gift, even when the pursuit is not going well.
After a week of sets that felt disconnected, Tim examines the difference between disappointment and data. A year ago, performances like these could have become evidence against his entire existence. Now they become information: What can he control? What needs improvement? What lies beyond the first joke, premise, or easy laugh?
The Joker in the Rye also receives its first hotline voicemail. Micah Brown calls while hungover to deliver a furious examination of leaf blowers, litter, fossil fuels, and society’s refusal to get its hands dirty. Tim suspects the real enemy may not be the leaf blower.
The conversation moves through sobriety, purpose, the illusion of happiness, and the need to take Comedy deeper into the material that feels frightening to reveal. Life is not a problem waiting to be solved. It is an experience, and the work is learning how to communicate it.
There is still a long season ahead. The important thing is remaining excited to play.
Be you. No one else can.
