The Cell With a Wall That Isn't a Plant (Biology Level 8)
Description
So today we're cell detectives. First we learn the clues that tell a plant cell from an animal cell. Then a suspect turns up that breaks those clues, and the only way to catch it is to work out how big it really is, with one simple sum.
Case closed. A cell wall alone proves nothing. The nucleus decides the case (plant or animal if it has one, bacterium if it doesn't), and the size sum backs up the verdict. The listener can now name the parts in both cells, the three plant extras, what makes a bacterium different, and state and use magnification = image size ÷ actual size (no units, same units for both sizes).
